You have options.
  • Renew your vehicle registration (decals) online and save $1.
  • A $5 statutory fee is added to each vehicle registration renewal transaction conducted in DMV customer service centers. Avoid the $5 fee by renewing online, through the mail, over the phone (1-888-337-4782) or at a DMV Select location. Listen to our podcast, "Five reasons to avoid going to DMV".
  • More than 25 other transactions may be conducted online. Customers may renew their driver's license, purchase a copy of their driving record and more.

Directions:
From U.S. Route 23 North: Turn right onto Kane Street. Turn right onto Broadwater Street which continues into Jones Street. DMV is on the right beside the U. S. Post Office.

From U.S. Route 58: Turn onto Primary State Route 71 South. Travel approximately 23 miles. Turn left onto Jones Street. DMV is on the left beside the U. S. Post Office.

Registrar on location Applying to register to vote or change your voter registration address just got easier! The Scott County General Registrar's Office is now located in the Gate City Customer Service Center. Scott County Assistant Registrars are located in the Customer Service Center to help you apply to register to vote or change your voter registration address.

DMV is committed to providing our customers the best service possible. DMV takes numerous measures to ensure our customer service centers (CSC) comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and that all of our customers have access to the services they need in a comfortable environment. Customers with disabilities can easily request special assistance or accommodations by making their needs known when they arrive at the information counter in any CSC. If you experience service that you feel does not meet your expectations, please ask to speak to the manager or supervisor on duty.
